Stabilo Products at Everyday Home Living

Stabilo is a German writing instrument brand founded in 1855 and one of the most widely recognised pen and highlighter brands in Australia. The brand is particularly well known for its BOSS highlighter range, which is the benchmark highlighter in Australian schools, universities, and offices, and for the Stabilo Point series of fine-line pens used for precision writing and illustration.

Stabilo BOSS Highlighters

The Stabilo BOSS Original highlighter is the definitive highlighter for Australian students and office workers. The wedge-shaped felt tip produces both a broad 5mm highlighting stroke and a finer 2mm line for underlining, giving one highlighter two functions without changing tools. BOSS highlighters are smear-resistant on most inkjet, laser, and ballpoint pen inks, making them safe to use immediately on freshly printed documents and handwritten notes. Available individually and in wallet and multipack formats across the full BOSS colour palette.

Stabilo Point Fine-Line Pens

Stabilo Point 88 fine-line pens use a durable fibre tip with a 0.4mm line width suited to detailed annotation, journalling, planner layouts, and fine illustration work. The extensive colour range of 50 or more colours makes Stabilo Point 88 a favourite for colour-coded note-taking, bullet journalling, and creative work in Australian schools and universities. The ink is water-based, acid-free, and generally lightfast for archival use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Stabilo highlighters smear on inkjet or laser printed pages?

Stabilo BOSS highlighters are formulated to be smear-resistant on most standard inkjet and laser printer inks when the printed page is fully dry. On most laser-printed documents, BOSS highlights immediately without smearing. On some inkjet prints, waiting 30 to 60 seconds for the ink to fully cure before highlighting reduces the risk of smearing. On ballpoint and gel pen inks, BOSS is safe to use immediately. Some inks, particularly water-based rollerballs and fountain pens, may smear when highlighted regardless of brand, as the water in the highlighter ink re-wets water-soluble pen inks.
