Description
The Bambu Lab X2D is a compact dual-nozzle enclosed 3D printer designed to bring multi-material printing with dedicated support filament capability into a desktop-sized machine with active chamber heating. The dual-nozzle system allows one nozzle to carry the primary filament and the second to handle a support or secondary material, significantly reducing the purging and waste that comes with single-nozzle material switching. Active 65°C chamber heating helps prevent warping in ABS, ASA, PA, and PC, which are prone to temperature-related adhesion problems in printers without active chamber heating.
The PMSM servo extruder runs at up to 1,000 mm/s with 20,000 mm/s² acceleration and nozzle pressure monitoring for consistent extrusion across materials and speeds. Both nozzles are hardened steel and rated to 300°C, handling standard filaments as well as carbon and glass fibre composites. A three-layer filtration system with G3 pre-filter, H12 HEPA filter, and granulated carbon filter reduces VOCs and particulates, making the X2D appropriate for office and home use. An AI monitoring camera and full-path filament sensing support consistent, unattended print runs.
